Question: How do you program the garage door opener in the 1999 Chevy

The opener in the upper console in the 1999 chevy suburban needs to be programmed... How do you do this and can you change it once it has been set?

if it is homelink, take a working remote from your garage door operator to the one in the suburban.. 1.) press and hold the two outside buttons untill they start flashing fast (this will erase the memory) 2.) after step one take the remote from the g/d and hold it beside the one in the car. the button in the car you want to program press and hold it at the same time you do the remote from the g/d op. do this for sevveral seconds (i'm not sure if it will flash or not. 3.) after step 2 have someone press and release the learn code button on the back or front depending on make of g/d operator , a light should come on beside it, (be sure to press it in one time and release) after that is done press the buton in the car once let go and press it again. within 15 seconds after light on learn code button comes on, that should do it. It sounds like a lot but hope this helps.
