Question: Pacifica Rotors need replaced every time I get brakes!

Does anyone else have a Chrystler Pacifica who's rotors need changed everytime the brake pads need changed? My pads still have 30% left, but the rotors are already chewed up. I took the car to Mienke, which maybe that's my problem. Can I have the rotors turned? I don't believe I bought the ceramic pads last time, but if they are better I will this time. Even when the rotors & pads were new, there was a squeeking noise when I braked. This continues to happen constantly through the life of the pads & rotors. I need advise!!

I'm not sure what you mean by chewed up. Usually if that happens, there is nothing left on the pads, and its metal on metal. If they are warped, that's a different story. I had the same problem with mu '02 Intrepid. I bought a set of rotors at http://tirerack.com They were twice the price, but worth it. They were designed to expel heat faster (which warps rotors) and made out of a tougher alloy. I never turn rotors. Once you start taking off material, the rotors will just warp faster. Check out a better set. You won't be disappointed.

try going to a difrent shop and next time have them mesure the rotors and compare then to the dealer disreguard spec witch is 26.5mm on the front and 12.5mm on the rear (information was retreved from alldata.com)

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
